Mantis Shrimp Layer Mask/Screenshot Project

Final version of the layer mask/screenshot project, 

1. Making masks worked very well for this project and allowed me to mix and match values and textures easily without them colliding.

2. I think that the bright colors and uniqueness of the photos used is what sets my piece apart form the rest.

James Victore

I like James Victore's artwork due to its simplistic design and heavy use of scratchy text and typography. I also like the lack of color in most pieces and when there is color it is used well.

Oh the Humanity!

1. The message of this piece is that everyone is the same, no matter the color.

2. For this piece I relied heavily on color and effects like outer glow.

1. The theme of this piece is fun and humorous with the sloth.

2. I used fades, timing, and movement through the frame, but the fade technique worked best.

3. While producing this piece, I found that tweening frames together was a good process to make the GIF flow smoother.

Gorillaz Book Project

Completed book piece of the band Gorillaz.

The theme was through the Gorillaz cover font which can be found on every page.

Structure through columns and grids can be found in a previous post.

I think the best part of the book is the diversity in the page designs, as they are all quite plain but are all unique. Had a lot of fun with this project.

In this piece, I used blue v orange contrast, and a pyramidal shape to control the viewer's attention to the different sides of the piece. I also used different filters and effects to change the textures and design on each part of this piece.
